Rickey Jefferson, a top athlete from Destrehan High School, committed to the LSU Tigers Sunday, according to Shea Dixon of the 247sports network.

Another Jefferson is headed to Baton Rouge.
Jefferson is the younger brother of former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson. He is extremely athletic and rates as a consensus four-star recruit. He is one of the top 150 recruits nationally regardless of position.
And it is the position that makes this commitment interesting. Most recruiting services list Jefferson as a receiver or athlete. According to Dixon, however, LSU accepted him as a cornerback after working him out at the position during several summer camps.
Jefferson stands 6’0 and checks in at 180 pounds. That is excellent size for a cornerback recruit.

Jefferson is the 20th commitment of the year for the Tigers, who are back to locking down the state of Louisiana.
