Davin Bellamy reacts to Dameyune Craig leaving Florida State for Auburn

Florida State defensive end commitment Davin Bellamy says he is “devastated” by the news that Florida State quarterback coach Dameyune Craig is leaving Florida State to become the wide receiver coach and offensive coordinator at Auburn University.

Craig played for Auburn, and was the primary recruiter for the star defensive end recruit from Atlanta.

I got in touch with Bellamy Thursday night.

Bellamy still considers himself a Florida State commitment and still plans to make the trip to Tallahassee on January 11 as part of a big planned recruiting weekend for the Seminoles.

But he said that he is now “open and it’s fair game.”

Other schools in contention include Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, Clemson, Pitt and Mississippi State. Visits to Tennessee and Georgia are still planned, both of which have been recruiting Bellamy from the outset.

Bellamy spoke with fellow Florida State commitments Marquez White and Levonte ‘Kermit’ Whitfield, both of whom encouraged him to stick with the Seminoles.
