Davin Bellamy commits to Georgia on National Signing Day

Davin Bellamy announced he’ll play for Georgia after a confusing process where he was previously committed to Florida State. The Chamblee, Georgia native has four stars per some services.

Davin Bellamy, a defensive end considered a four-star recruit by some, has decided to stay at home and committed to the Georgia.

Bellamy’s recruiting process was a relatively confusing one: he was considered to be down to Florida State, Georgia, and Tennessee. At one point, we had the strange news that he was committed to the Seminoles but the leader was Georgia, thanks to Todd Grantham’s defense. Oregon leaped into the consideration in part thanks to a trip to Eugene, when he took a picture with a bong.

When posting about the 60 best recruits likely to make a decision on signing day, SB Nation’s recruiting expert Bud Elliott thought the Chamblee, Georgia native would sign with the Bulldogs.

Bellamy is 6-foot-5, 240 pounds, and is ranked as a four-star recruit by ESPN, who consider him the No. 25 defensive end in the class. It's a nice touch in what hasn't been a very good signing day for UGA, who were hoping for Laremy Tunsil, Matthew Thomas, and Montravius Adams -- and missed on all three.

Look through SB Nation’s many excellent college football blogs to find your team’s community.
