Washington State recruiting 2014: Cougars putting together modest class

Allan Henry-US PRESSWIRE

Mike Leach and his staff have pulled together a solid group of talent, but the 14-man class isn’t going to make national headlines. The class ranks just 47th in the country, though it looks better within the context of the Pac-12, where it ranks fifth. The Cougars have yet to earn a verbal from any player rated higher than three stars.

WSU most recently added three-star offensive tackle Sean Krepsz, who committed on Sept. 24. Linebacker Frank Luvu and offensive tackle Jordan Rose pledged in late August, but generally speaking, it’s been a quiet couple of months for the Cougars.

Here’s a glance at some of Washington State’s top verbals:

Braden Eggert of Napa (Calif.) Napa High School is a three-star offensive tackle and the No. 672 overall player in the 2014 class, which makes him the highest-rated verbal Washington State has at this point. He is the No. 60 player at his position.

Zaire Andre, a three-star wide receiver from Inglewood (Calif.) Inglewood High School, has been a Washington State pledge since May. He is the consensus No. 88 player at his position, the No. 690 player overall, and a top-60 player in California.

Three-star St. Petersburg (Fla.) Northeast High School product Keith Harrington is a potential all-purpose back or wide receiver at the college level. He is regarded as the 19th-best all-purpose back in the class and the 110th-best player in Florida.
