Bret Bielema’s first year at Arkansas has been a poor one on the field, with just seven BCS conference teams ranking worse in the F/+ ratings, but the Razorbacks are recruiting pretty well off it.

Arkansas has four four-star commits in its 2014 class.

Arkansas ranks 24th in the nation in the 247sports composite team rankings. In the stacked SEC, however, that’s good for just 10th.
Bijhon Jackson is the star of the class. The defensive tackle from El Dorado (Ark.) High School is considered a four-star by the 247sports composite. He is rated as the sixth-best defensive tackle in the class and the best player in the state.
Jermaine Eluemunor is another top get for the Razorbacks. The offensive tackle from Scranton, Pa., is rated a four-star by the 247sports composite. He is considered the third-best offensive tackle in the country and the best player in the state.
Rafe Peavey is another big commitment for Bielema. The quarterback from Bolivar (Mo.) High School is considered a four-star by the 247sports composite. He is rated as the 14th-best pro-style quarterback in the country and the fourth-best player in the state.
Jovan Pruitt is another solid get for Arkansas. The offensive tackle from Bishop Dunne Catholic (Texas) High School is rated a four-star by the 247sports composite. He is considered the 22nd-best offensive tackle in the country and the 32nd-best player in the state.
Future Razorbacks?
Things are not looking up for Arkansas on the recruiting trail. The Razorbacks are a clear favorite for only one four-star recruit -- Josh Frazier, a massive nose guard from Springdale (Ark.)
Bielema does have a great track record of developing players and finding those who fit his system, but the problem is that the difference in recruited talent between Wisconsin and the rest of the Big Ten, and Arkansas and the rest of the SEC makes Bielema’s new task much tougher.
