Four-star Brandon Lee commits to Missouri over Virginia Tech, others

The Tigers add yet another promising prospect to their 2014 class.

Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

Brandon Lee, a four-star outside linebacker out of Lawrence Central High School (Ind.), committed to Gary Pinkel and the Missouri Tigers on Friday afternoon. Lee was also considering Cal, Louisville and Virginia Tech:

Lee is ranked by 24/7Sports as the 278th best player in the 2014 class. He is also regarded as the 24th best outside linebacker available, as well as the fifth-best prospect from the state of Indiana. At 6’4 and 215 pounds, Lee has a solid frame and should continue growing into his body once he hits a college weight room. The plan is for Lee to enroll early in January.

Missouri's had a lot of success developing linebackers and defensive linemen in recent years. Aldon Smith, Sheldon Richardson and Ziggy Hood were all selected in the first round within the last five years, and current defensive end Michael Sam is an All-America candidate in 2013.

Here are some highlights of Lee’s junior season:

Mizzou's recruiting efforts have picked up in recent weeks as the Tigers make their run through the SEC. Earlier in the week, four-star offensive tackle Andy Bauer committed to the Tigers after originally pledging to Ole Miss last spring.
