Cornerback recruit Denzel Fisher starred for Centennial High School in Compton, and garnered a number of top Pac-12 offers.
Denzel Fisher Recruit Scouting Report: Big cornerback
Fisher is an excellent cornerback recruit. Here is our scouting report on him.

Fisher is regarded as a three-star prospect by 24/7Sports’ composite team rankings. He’s also viewed by ESPN, Rivals and Scout as a three-star recruit, though that could change by the time National Signing Day rolls around and the scouting networks update their rankings to reflect the 2013 season. At 6’2, 175 pounds, Fisher will need to bulk up in the weight room and in the kitchen before he’s able to see regular playing time at the college level.

Derrell Warren, West Coast Recruiting Analyst (@yssd): Fisher is a tall, wiry recruit with exceptional length, even for a player of his height. While his frame isn’t necessarily conducive to adding a ton of weight, he should be able to work his way into the 180-pound range eventually.
At the next level, Fisher probably best projects as a pressman corner. He’s disruptive at the line of scrimmage and very aggressive when asked to re-route receivers. In off man coverage, he has an understanding of angles and does a good job planting and breaking underneath the receiver’s outside shoulder to undercut in routes. He lacks the short area explosion needed to click and close, so he needs to use physicality to limit a receiver’s initial separation.
He has the vision and instincts to function well playing zone. Fisher does a great job tracking the ball in flight while in Cover 3. Also shows good awareness and uses his length to disrupt passing windows.
It will be interesting to see what type of system Fisher is used in at the college level. He is a bit of a tight mover, so he profiles best in a Cover 2 type of system that will allow him to reroute receivers underneath or Cover 3 scheme that allows him to keep his eyes on the quarterback longer. Fisher could also be an intriguing possibility at free safety due to his length and ball skills.
