Is Laremy Tunsil a ‘done deal’ to Ole Miss? What about Georgia, Alabama?

Could this really happen?

A major surprise if it comes true: it is being reported by Scott Kennedy of Scout that Laremy Tunsil, the top offensive tackle recruit in the country, is a done deal to play for Ole Miss.

This is a fairly big deal because Kennedy is not just some intern for the Mississippi Scout site. Kennedy is Scout’s National Director of Scouting, and has been with the company for 10 years. Here’s the tweet:

The link simply links to the main page of the Mississippi Scout site, and does not contain any additional information.

Tunsil could potentially end up as Ole Miss’ fifth five-star recruit if the remaining chips fall the way Mississippi fans hope. If it happens, it will also raise a lot of eyebrows, as a team that went 7-6 in 2013 has a chance to land more five-star recruits than any other SEC team.

Tunsil is 6’5, 290 pounds and extremely athletic. He’s a consensus five-star recruit out of Lake City (Fla.) Columbia High School, and holds offers from every major school in the country, including Texas, which rarely offers players outside of the Lonestar State.

In yesterday’s recruiting predictions, I wrote the following on Tunsil:

Ole Miss has made a push, and Alabama has always been there, but Tunsil’s relationship with Georgia coach Will Friend wins out in the end. I do not expect Ole Miss to play a major factor in his recruitment.

I am not yet ready to switch my prediction, but will be reaching out to sources in the SEC to see what they have heard on Tunsil.

Update: I am now switching the Tunsil prediction to Ole Miss. This is a huge surprise.
