Daniel McMillian enrolled at Florida: top linebacker recruit a Gator

McMillian is one of several members of Florida’s 2013 class to enroll early.

Elite 2013 linebacker prospect Daniel McMillian enrolled at Florida for the spring semester, and he’ll be able to participate in spring drills. McMillian has been a Florida commitment for a long time -- he picked the Gators over Florida State and Alabama, among others, in February of last year.

McMillian’s recruitment was a bit of a surprise, because star players from Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast High School have routinely decided to play for the Rival Florida State Seminoles. McMillian grew up a fan of the Gators, however, and never really wavered in his commitment to Florida.

McMillian is ranked by Rivals as the fifth-best player at his position, and the No. 123 overall player in the 2013 class. He is one of several highly-regarded recruits to enroll at Florida early, and he is a part of what is considered one of the top recruiting classes in the nation.

Ratings: McMillian is a four-star prospect according to both Rivals and 247Sports.

Vitals: He’s 6’3” and weighs 220 pounds. He has excellent length and is both aggressive and good in coverage. He should be able to avoid a redshirt and contribute immediate for the Gators in 2013, though perhaps not as a starter.

Other offers: McMillian is one of the most highly sought-after recruits in the country. He received scholarship offers from the likes of Ohio State, Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson and Florida State.
