The Miami Hurricanes have never had a problem luring the nation's top recruits to campus. The big issue in recent years is developing those players and getting them to stick around for more than a season or two.
Kevin Olsen signs with Miami over Arkansas, South Carolina
Olsen is regarded as one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2013 class. He will look to turn around a once-elite program that has really struggled in recent years.

Kevin Olsen is hoping to change the culture at Miami. The brother of NFL and former Miami tight end Greg Olsen, Kevin’s big arm should go a long way in picking up the Hurricanes on offense. He is rated as one of the top quarterbacks in the 2013 class, and a couple of hurdles both on and off the field have given him a greater appreciation for the game he plays. He’s officially signed his letter of intent to Miami.
Olsen broke his foot during his senior season at Wayne Hills High School in Wayne, N.J., and also had his newborn nephew undergo surgery for a heart defect. Signing his National Letter of Intent is the first step in what he hopes to be a long and successful college career.
Ratings: Olsen is a consensus four-star recruit. Most scouting services have him as one of the top pro-style quarterback prospects in the country.
Vitals: Olsen comes in at 6’3 and 195 pounds. Look for him to beef up a bit once he spends time in Miami’s weight room.
Other offers: Quite a few prominent SEC schools offered him, including Arkansas, Auburn and South Carolina. Iowa and Wisconsin also made a pitch for him.

Recruitment timeline: Olsen committed to the Hurricanes on May 18. He remained firmly committed to Miami throughout the process.
