Devante Kincade signs with Ole Miss

The product of the Metroplex powerhouse is the dual-threat quarterback take in the 2013 class for Hugh Freeze.

Jim Brown-US PRESSWIRE

The Ole Miss Rebels have managed to put together an incredibly impressive recruiting class and one of the signal-callers who is part of the backbone of it is Dallas (Texas) Skyline’s Devante Kincade, a dual-threat prospect who signed on Wednesday.

A consensus three-star prospect, the 6-0, 180-pound run/pass threat is ranked as the no. 14 dual-threat quarterback nationally and the no. 47 prospect in the state of Texas, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He held offers from Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon State, and Wake Forest prior to pledging to the Rebels in July of 2012.

Kincade would be an easy choice as a four-star prospect if he were several inches taller. Though he’s listed as a dual-threat quarterback and has excellent speed and running ability, he’s also extremely capable from the pocket, possession strong arm strength for his size.

The MVP of the Elite 11 camp in Fort Worth last spring, Kincade impressed enough to earn an invitation to the Elite 11 finals.

As a senior, the Skyline product threw for over 2,800 yards and 38 touchdowns, while running for 861 more yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.
