The Michigan Wolverines secured a huge commitment from tight end Ian Bunting after his visit to Ann Arbor this past weekend. The Hinsdale (Ill.) Central receiver picked the Maize and Blue over schools like Notre Dame, Ohio State and USC. Bunting also enjoyed offers from over 20 schools such as Oklahoma, Oregon, Florida State, 10 Big Ten schools and a host of others.
Bunting weighs in at 210 pounds and stands at around 6'6"; a lankier prospect, Bunting figures to be the type of player who can line out and be a tougher one-on-one matchup in the passing game while being difficult to contain on the inside. A consensus four-star recruit, Bunting is ranked as the 114th best recruit in the ESPN150; ESPN also ranks him the fifth best tight end and the sixth best recruit in Illinois. According to 247Sports, Bunting is the 11th best tight end and the 11th best recruit in his home state. He's the 14th best tight end according to Rivals and the 17th best tight end according to Scout.
More on Bunting comes courtesy of Maize N Brew, who says that Bunting will need to add weight to his frame to become an effective blocker and match his receiving skills.
