2013 Elite 11 Columbus Quarterback Camp preview

The Columbus stop on the Elite 11 Camp tour is loaded.

Top quarterback prospects from the Midwest and around the country will converge on Ohio State’s campus for Saturday’s Elite 11 QB Camp competition. SB Nation will have full insider access to the event, as well as the NFTC on Sunday. The event is a super regional and the top performers will earn an invite to the Elite 11 finals at Nike’s The Opening in Oregon later this summer. Here are some of the top committed prospects. Click on the player name for more information, including a scouting report, if available.

Drew Barker, Conner (Ky.) High School: Barker is a big, pro-style passer who chose Kentucky over South Carolina recently.

J.J. Cosentino, Pittsburgh (Pa.) Central Catholic: Cosentino is a Florida State commitment who recently added an offer from Penn State.

Darius Wade, Middletown (Del.) High School: A Boston College commitment, I’m anxious to see him throw and wonder what improvements he has made since the Virginia Elite 11 event.

Caleb Henderson, Lake Braddock (Va.) High School: Henderson is a big, strong QB recruit committed to North Carolina.

Reggie Bonnafon, Louisville (Ky.) Trinity High School: Bonnafon is committed to Louisville. It will be my first time seeing him throw, and I am excited to see the QB who could be the heir apparent to Teddy Bridgewater.

Peyton Bender, Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons: I’ve seen Bender many times throughout his high school career, and am excited to see him again. He is committed to Washington State.

Jalan McClendon, Charlotte (N.C.) Mecklenburg West High School: McClendon is committed to N.C. State and its new spread offense.

Clayton Thorson, Wheaton (Il.) North: Thorson is a Northwestern commitment, and one of the stars of its surprising class.

Grayson Muehlstein, Decatur (Tx.) High School: Muehlstein is a TCU commitment with excellent size and mobility.

Chris Durkin, Youngstown (Oh.) Ursuline High School: Durkin is a huge athlete at the QB position. The Michigan State commitment is raw, but has a lot of tools with which to work.

DeShone Kizer, Toledo (Oh.) Central Catholic: Kizer is uncommitted, but claims offers from several major SEC schools.

Chase Litton, Wharton (Fla.) High School: Litton has many tools, including a big arm, but can be quite erratic. Will he improve his footwork and accuracy the second time around? If he does, he can be the best QB on the field.

Brandon Dawkins, Thousand Oaks (Calif.) Oaks Christian School: Dawkins is athletic, but raw. He claims offers from Notre Dame, among others.

Trace McSorley, Briar Woods (Va.) High School: McSorley claims an offer from Virginia Tech.

A.J. Long, Lebanon (Tn.) Friendship Christian: The athletic Syracuse commitment will again try to earn a Golden Ticket to The Opening.

Chandler Kincade, Beaver Falls (Pa.) Blackhawk HS: Kincade holds offers from Pitt and Rutgers, and has good size at 6’5 and 215 pounds.

Anthony Ratliff, Butler (N.C.): Ratliff holds several BCS offers. This will be my first time seeing him throw in person.

Sean White, Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) University School: White has several offers and has a strong arm with good touch.

David Morrison, Ft. Wayne (In.) Concordia High School: Morrison is a Ball State commitment.

Joey Duckworth, Louisville (Oh.) High School: Duckworth is committed to Ohio.
