4* LB Otaro Alaka flips from Horns to Aggies


Otaro Alaka Wescott Eberts (SB Nation)The 6’3, 205-pounder had elected not to take an unofficial visit to Texas over the weekend after receiving in-home visits last week from Strong and Aggie head coach Kevin Sumlin, along with two members of the A&M staff. An official visit planned by Alaka to LSU was also cancelled late last week.
A consensus four-star prospect, Alaka had originally chosen Texas over Texas A&M in April of 2013. The No. 11 outside linebacker nationally and the No. 18 prospect in the state of Texas, Alaka is also considered the No. 163 prospect in the country by the 247Sports Composite rankings. He also held offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Boise State, California, Colorado, Florida State, Iowa State, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, and Texas Tech.

“I chose Texas because of the balance between the academic program and the football program,” said the 6’3, 210-pound linebacker, who plans to major in business or medicine.
