The Georgia Bulldogs have landed the commitment of in-state running back Nick Chubb. The consensus four-star recruit from Cedartown (Ga.) High School picked the Bulldogs over South Carolina, Auburn, Florida, and Tennessee in an announcement carried on a local FOX station.

The highly-rated in-state prospect gives the Bulldogs their second big name running back in the 2014 recruiting class.

Known as a hard worker and a role model in the small town of Cedartown, Chubb is known for spending most of his time in the weight room trying to get better, a dedication that will surely serve him well as he makes the transition to college football next year, as noted by his coach Scott Hendrix prior to his announcement.

Chubb has prototypical size for a running back, standing 5'11 and weighing in at 216 pounds, rushing for just under 2,700 yards and 38 touchdowns as a junior this past season, and has 62 rushing touchdowns during the last two seasons alone. The decision came down for the Bulldogs despite the fact he'll enter a crowded Georgia backfield behind Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall, but if he's as good as he's looked in high school, he could make a play for some carries early in his college career.
Chubb gives Georgia six commits in their 2014 recruiting class, with four of them coming from within the state of Georgia. In that class he’s joining five-star Florida running back Sony Michel, who could form the other half of the next productive running back combo for the Dawgs.
