The pledge of Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain quarterback Kyle Allen to the Texas A&M Aggies on Monday sent some shockwaves through quarterback recruiting across the country. One of those impacted was Bossier City (La.) Parkway quarterback Brandon Harris, who had been considering the Aggies, but was forced to move on with only one spot in the class available.

The top dual-threat quarterback in the country by 247Sports may have one team standing out.
The word class probably gets thrown around too much in sports and has lost its true meaning as a result, but the way in which Harris handled it was nothing short of commendable:

Still, it doesn’t change that fact that one of the top schools on his list is no longer in contention, leaving some question marks about where he might be leaning. GigEm247’s Taylor Hamm thinks he may have an idea:

Not long after Hamm broke that news, Harris tweeted out his own excitement about getting out to see the Tiger program:

So it looks like head coach Gus Malzahn and company have a chance to make a strong impression not long after Harris made trips to Ohio State and Alabama that also played favorably for both programs. The Crimson Tide, however, are notably reticent in this class to extend committable offers, so their coaching staff still appears to be in evaluation mode.
Meanwhile, industry projections have LSU as the overwhelming favorite in the 247Sports Crystal Ball, with 86% of the predictions favoring the home-state Tigers instead of the out-of-state Tigers.
With moving pieces like Alabama’s still-pending decision about which quarterback they want to take and the Auburn visit pending, there could still be plenty of twists and turns left in Harris’ recruitment before one team emerges with one of the most talented quarterbacks in the country on July 18 when he makes his announcement.
