Dalton Schultz commits to Stanford: Cardinal pick up top tight end recruit

Student Sports

The top-rated tight end in the nation has made his college choice, as 2014 prospect Dalton Schultz has committed to Stanford.

A consensus four-star recruit, Schultz is listed at 6’5 and weighs in at 215 pounds. He attends Bingham (Utah) High School, and hails from South Jordan, Utah. Scout and ESPN each rate Schultz as the top tight end in the country, while Rivals places him second and 247sports puts him all the way down at fourth.

The 247sports composite, which aggregates the ratings from each of the four major recruiting services, considers Schultz a four-star prospect. The composite ranks him as the 102nd-best prospect in the country, the best tight end in the class (slightly ahead of USC commit Bryce Dixon) and the second-best player in the state of Utah.

Schultz is the 17th commitment of the 2014 class for the Cardinal.
