It’s a great year to be a Louisiana receiver -- the 247sports composite lists four Bayou State players among the top 15 wideouts of 2014, including the top-ranked Speedy Noil, out of New Orleans (La.) Edna Carr, and second-ranked Malachi Dupre, from New Orleans (La.) John Curtis.
Trey Quinn recruit scouting report: Complete receiver
Louisiana has a ton of receiving talent in 2014, and Trey Quinn is no different.

Trey Quinn is ranked slightly below Dupre and Noil, but is massively talented in his own right, checking in at 6’1, 200 pounds and a reported 4.39 40 time. The Lake Charles (La.) Barbe receiver is rated as a top 100 recruit in the 2014 class, and in an already talented group of Louisiana players, Quinn still manages to crack the top 10, easily in the same group as Cameron Robinson and Leonard Fournette.
Quinn has offers from all over, including from most of the SEC powers -- Texas A&M, LSU, Vanderbilt, Arkansas and Auburn are among those interested in Quinn, as are several other pass happy programs like SMU, Texas Tech and Houston.
Bud Elliott, National Recruiting Analyst: Trey Quinn is an excellent prospect. He is not that tall, but has long arms thick build, and I suspect he’ll end up around 6’2 and 210 pounds.
Quinn is an excellent combination of quickness and functional strength. He does not have great long speed, but is quick in and out of his cuts the create separation in the short and mid-levels. Quinn is hard to press because of his strength and length as well, which allows him quick releases into his routes.
And the routes he runs are very, very good. You can tell that Quinn has worked on his route running, as he tries to make every route look the same. He also sits down well against zone coverage, presenting a big target to his quarterback.
I am very impressed by Quinn’s hands. They are some of the best in the class. He extends to catch balls above his head and below his knees. He effortlessly plucks, and is very natural catching the football. Quinn’s hands are strong and he will be a reliable option on third down.
