One of the top inside linebackers in the 2014 class hails from Alabama. Tre’ Williams is a consensus five-star recruit, and not surprisingly, he holds scholarship offers from both Auburn and the Crimson Tide. Williams also holds offers from plenty of big-time out-of-state programs, including Florida State, LSU, Clemson, USC, Florida and South Carolina.
Tre’ Williams recruit scouting report: Thumper at linebacker
Williams is a five-star inside linebacker from Alabama.

Williams, who is 6’3 and weighs 237 pounds, played for St. Paul’s Episcopal in Mobile, where his production earned him a slot in the 2014 Under Armour All-American Game. He finished the 2013 season with 119 tackles and forced a pair of fumbles.
Scout, Rivals and 247Sports are all essentially in agreement about where Williams ranks in the class: Scout has him at No. 33 overall and No. 2 at his position, Rivals has him at No. 23 and No. 2, and 247Sports ranks him 22nd and first. ESPN has him a bit lower at No. 69 overall and fourth among ILBs.

Bud Elliott, National Recruiting Analyst: Williams is one of the best linebackers in the country. As with most elite prospects, his combination of size and athleticism set him apart. Williams is big for a high school linebacker at 235 pounds, and he can probably play at closer to 250 in time.
Williams is a thumper. He delivers the blow and punishes ball carriers. He also takes pretty good routes to the football, something I look for in inside linebackers. He attacks blocks well and is easily able to defeat them with his physicality.
I do have some questions about Williams’ agility. I do not consider him an excellent pass-coverage linebacker, though he could be OK in short zones. And while he is productive, he does not seem to have the best instincts.
