Pryor is a solid prospect at safety.
Pryor, out of Sulphur Springs (Texas) High School, stands 6’0.5 and weighs in at 190 pounds. As of February 2014, he’s rated as a consensus four-star prospect by the four major recruiting services. He’s ranked as the sixth-best safety, according to the 247 Sports composite, and the 13th-best player from the state of Texas. He ranks 100th among all high school players.
Pryor is drawing interest from several top programs, mostly in and around his home state. He holds scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Arkansas, Baylor, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas and Texas Tech.

Pryor primarily played quarterback for Sulphur Springs as a junior and transitioned to the position well enough to rack up more than 3,700 total yards and 42 touchdowns, production that suggests a high level of natural athletic ability.
As a runner, Pryor is extremely hard to take down because of his solid build on a frame that will eventually hold 200-210 pounds in college. There’s some shake to his game, but it’s his tackle-breaking ability because of his strength and leg drive that stands out the most.
It doesn’t appear that Pryor runs track and there aren’t any verifiable testing times for him, so the 4.50 40 time listed on his 247Sports is hard to gauge, though the Sulphur Springs product looks a little bit slower than that on film, making him more likely to be a strong safety in college than a free safety.
Pryor does look comfortable sinking into his backpedal and then driving with his first step out of it and can show some physicality as a tackler, though wrapping up more consistently will be a point of emphasis for him in college.
The bottom line is that there isn’t a lot of film on Pryor defensively, but his production offensively suggests that he learns quickly and has a high level of athletic savvy.
