He checks in as the country’s No. 3 defensive tackle, the state of California’s third-best player and the 12th-best player in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

The five-star defensive lineman is hearing from many different colleges, but he’s talking to four different schools more than any others.
“Recruiting is going well,” Green said. “I’m hearing the most from USC, UCLA, Stanford and Oklahoma.”
A couple of weeks ago, Green made the trip to Palo Alto to see what the in-state Stanford Cardinal had to offer. He had a very good time on the visit.
“My visit to Stanford went great,” he stated. “I got to see pretty much everything. The dorms, facilities and many other things the school has to offer.”
Green took the time to share his thoughts on a couple of the schools that are recruiting him (USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington and Florida). Here’s what he had to say about the five schools.
USC: “At SC I talk to Coach Wilson, Wilcox and Martin the most. I talk to them pretty often on social media/phone. I like that SC is a great school for football and academics.”
UCLA: “I talk to Coach Klemm, Mora, Ulbrich and Martin. I talk to them pretty often. I like the coaching staff, the good football and academics.”
Oregon: “I’ve talked to Coach Helfrich a couple times and I talked to the defensive line coach on the phone. What I like about them is that they are a great football team that I would like to learn more about.”
Washington: “I’ve talked to Coach Petersen once and haven’t talked to them since. I liked the coaching staff and the team’s success, but the staff left so I’m not so sure right now.”
Florida: “I haven’t really talked to the coaching staff in a while, but I’ve always liked Florida. They were my favorite team growing up.”
He’s not done making rounds to colleges, as he has a visit set to Oregon in a couple of weeks. After that he’s not sure of his visit schedule, though he would like to get out on a lot more visits down the road.
“I’m getting to Oregon in a couple of weeks,” he continued. “After that I’m not too sure.”
USC is probably the favorite to land his commitment as it currently stands, followed by UCLA. That said, he’s not ready to publicly name a leader. As far as a college decision, he’s probably going to announce late in the process in the Army All-American Bowl in January of 2015.
“I don’t have a leader right now,” he stated. “I want to make my decision at the Army All-American Bowl.”
When it comes time to make a decision, there will be one factor that weighs the heaviest on his mind.
“The biggest factor is would it be a place I would like to go if I wasn’t playing football,” Green said when asked about the biggest factor in his college decision.
All 19 predictions made on Green’s 247Sports Crystal Ball page have him pegged to land with the USC Trojans, though things could definitely change over the course of his recruitment.
