James Cook says he’s better than Dalvin Cook was as a freshman. He’s right.

Dalvin Cook’s freshman brother just rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns in the 6A Florida State Title Game.

Orlando (Fla.) -- Miami Central won its fourth straight 6A State Title, 48-13 over Armwood High School thanks to the running of freshman James Cook, who carried the entire load after a teammate suffered an injury in the ballgame. Rushing 15 times, Cook put up an impressive 178 yards and three touchdowns before being pulled late in the blowout.

If the name Cook sounds familiar on a Miami Central roster, it should. James is the little brother of Miami Central legend and current Florida State superstar Dalvin Cook.

After the win, James spoke with SB Nation about carrying the Rockets to the title and his recruitment, which is really just beginning. Cook currently has offers from LSU, Miami and, yes, Florida State. Though he is overaged for a freshman, expect his offer list to explode after this performance.

Other topics discussed in the video include Cook’s favorite school growing up, who he models his game after, and a comparison between he and his older brother. He also had some thoughts on Dalvin not being invited to the Heisman Trophy ceremony.
