Five-star Allen (Texas) offensive tackle Greg Little committed to the Texas A&M Aggies last June, not long after the Aggies picked up a pledge from his former quarterback Kyler Murray.
No. 2 prospect Greg Little planning upcoming visits despite Texas A&M pledge
Just how solid is the Allen left tackle to the Aggies?
But that hasn’t stopped other schools from continuing to recruit the 6’6, 308-pounder, who spoke with SB Nation Recruiting on Sunday at the Dallas The Opening regional camp in Arlington.
With so many major programs still pursuing Little, the question is how much he’s listening. Aggies fans may not like the answer -- asked about the status of his commitment, the Allen star took the opportunity to rate the solidity of his pledge at 5 out of 10.
USC, UCLA, Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, and LSU are schools in which he still has interest. Little plans on taking one summer trip to the Southeast to see the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs, as well as Auburn, and another trip the next week to the West Coast to visit the Trojans and Bruins.
There’s a rather significant pipeline from Allen to the College Station, and Little spoke about wanting to play with Murray during the early part of the recruiting process. Now, he says that Murray’s choice didn’t impact his own too heavily, which is both good and bad news for Texas A&M.
If Murray opts to play baseball instead of football and sign with a major league team this summer, it won’t influence his former tackle’s ultimate choice, but Murray sticking with football also won’t ensure Little’s signature next February.
Staff turnover is one reason why Little isn’t completely solid with Texas A&M. In fact, he said that new offensive line coach Dave Christensen hasn’t communicated much with him since taking over, a fact that may need to change in the near future for the Aggies to avoid a decommitment from the nation’s No. 2 prospect.
