Alvin (Texas) Manvel’s Jordan Carmouche is one of the most versatile linebackers in the state and he made his way up to Alrington on Sunday for The Opening’s Dallas regional camp. While there, he spoke with SB Nation Recruiting about the current status of his recruitment.
Rising LB Jordan Carmouche looking for early playing time
The 6’2, 219-pounder has taken in several recent Junior Days around the region.
Carmouche traveled around the region for recent Junior Days at Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M. In College Station, Carmouche enjoyed the facilities, his interactions with the coaches and the overall atmosphere. At Oklahoma, many of the same things stood out, though he was also impressed with the tradition there. Arkansas aided its position by being one of the first schools to offer the versatile linebacker. Carmouche enjoyed his experience at Texas and believes the Longhorns will be able to turn that program around.
Winning in college is a priority for Carmouche, which is good news for ascending Baylor. Such strong consideration of the Bears by the Manvel product wouldn’t have happened when Baylor was struggling. Carmouche has plans to visit Baylor for the school’s Friday Night Lights scrimmage, but doesn’t currently have any other visit plans.
Other than education and playing in a winning program, Carmouche is looking for the opportunity to play early. He said he’s already looked at the depth chart of every school from which he holds an offer.
The consensus three-star prospect is the No. 51 outside linebacker and the No. 89 player in Texas. He plans on making a decision during the early part of his senior season.
