Four-star safety Isaiah Pola-Mao (6’4, 190 pounds, Phoenix, Ariz.) has decided where he’s attending college. On Friday, Pola-Mao announced from his high school that he is committed to USC.
4-star safety Isaiah Pola-Mao commits to USC over Washington, Arizona State
Pretty big pick-up for the Trojans.

The safety is the No. 2 prospect out of the state of Arizona, and the No. 14 safety overall in this year’s class, according to the 247Sports Composite. In mid-January, Pola-Mao announced that his final three schools were USC, Washington, and Arizona State. His last official visit was take on Jan. 13 to USC.
The safety’s commitment to USC brings the Trojans 2017 class to two safeties. Four-star safety Bubba Bolden, is pretty close in size (6’2, 192 pounds) to Pola-Mao. But, given that the two are the only safeties in this year’s class, doesn’t make things too crowded at the position.
He has a unique skill set — Pola-Mao played both safety and wide receiver in high school, but he’s listed and being recruited to USC as a safety. During his senior season, he had 646 yards receiving along with nine touchdowns. If anything, his dual ability may have made him more attractive as a safety prospect overall.
Pola-Mao was selected to the Under Armour All-American game that was played earlier this month, but a shoulder injury he suffered in the 6A state championship game in late November sidelined him for the week of practice and the game. He was still in attendance, however.
With the latest commitment, USC’s class is coming together nicely. The Trojans have a good chance of closing out National Signing Day on a high note. Pola-Mao’s commitment expedites that process a bit.
