The five-star receiver broke down in tears right before announcing a big decision.

Five-star wide receiver Terrace Marshall committed to LSU over Florida State, Texas, and Texas A&M on the last day of college football’s Early Signing Period, breaking down in tears while thanking his family and mentors before one of the biggest moments of his life.

The 6’3, 215-pound athlete is a major get; the 247Sports Composite rates him as the top wideout in his class and the top prospect from the state of Louisiana.

Marshall’s exceptional high school career at Bossier City, La.’s Parkway High School ensured he could write his own ticket to the college of his choice, despite an unfortunate injury in his senior year. He had offers from NCAA royalty like Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. He whittled his list down to Florida State, LSU, and Texas A&M before making his choice.

What’s special about Terrace Marshall?

The wideout brings a rare blend of size and speed that will make him a versatile target. With a 4.5 second 40-yard dash time, he has the straight line speed to be a deep threat down the sideline and the length to rise up and rip 50/50 balls from the hands of defenders. While he could stand to add some extra muscle, he’s a powerful runner with solid vision, which makes him difficult to bring down in the open field.

Marshall should prove to be an effective red-zone target as well. He runs clean routes to create separation in tight spaces and has the hands to make tough catches in traffic.

He often looked like a man among boys at the high school level. Now he has to prove he can maintain his production against a new class of athlete.
