Four-star receiver Justyn Ross committed to Clemson on National Signing Day, over Alabama and Auburn. The 6’4, 201-pound pass-catcher ranks 45th nationally on the 247Sports Composite and seventh at his position. He’s a great get for Dabo Swinney’s Tigers.
Clemson holds off Alabama to land 4-star WR Justyn Ross on National Signing Day
The lanky wide receiver is taking his size to college.

Ross is the prototypical long-limbed deep threat. The kid is built like a praying mantis and lopes down the field with a large catch radius and huge strides. He’s a receiver who you’d just throw the ball up to and expect him to high-point it and bring it in.
Ross is an Alabama native, from Phenix City, and that led our Alabama blog Roll Bama Roll to be confident the Tide would secure his services, despite Clemson’s status as the longtime favorite. But the Tigers pulled through in the end.
As for in-state WR Justyn Ross, I still think he goes with the Tide. Clemson is a legit threat, but I think Saban comes through. The WR depth chart isn’t loaded by any means and I think Alabama will be too much for Ross to turn down. Ross plays his recruitment close to the chest, so it is hard to read.
Ross might not be a player who makes an immediate mark, but once he puts on some weight in a college strength program he could be a truly tough threat to stop in the vertical passing game.
