Four-star quarterback James Foster has decided to play his college football at Texas A&M. He announced his choice Wednesday, on National Signing Day.
4-star James Foster, the highest-rated uncommitted QB, picks Texas A&M
Foster has been a riser in the class of 2018.

Foster is the No. 12 dual-threat QB in the class of 2018, according to the industry-consensus 247Sports Composite. The Montgomery, Alabama, product had committed to Missouri in April 2017. He decommitted the following October after quietly scrapping references to his “Mizzou commit” status from his Twitter bio. He was the highest-profile quarterback left uncommitted after the sport’s first-ever Early Signing Period in December, preferring to wait until February.
On the camp circuit that’s come to define national QB recruiting, Foster was impressive. His physical gifts are obvious: He’s 6’3 and has athleticism that jumps off game tape, and he’s an accurate passer who should be able to make the throws required of a major college quarterback. He did a nice job at the Elite 11 finals last summer in California, where he flashed above-average arm strength and an ability to push the ball downfield with authority.
Foster’s profile has risen over the last few months, as his recruitment heated up following his Mizzou decommitment. He had well more than a dozen offers from all over the Power 5.
LSU, Alabama, Florida State, and Texas A&M had all been recruiting Foster seriously as recently as January. He took a high-profile visit to Tallahassee the weekend before National Signing Day, shortly after a reported visit from former FSU coach Jimbo Fisher, now at A&M.
