This week in recruiting is a collection of thoughts and things of interest from me as a recruiting expert that either didn’t rise to the level of being their own story, or for which I did not have time to make into a story this week.
This week in recruiting: Oklahoma adds defensive talent
The biggest recruiting news in the week that was

- I am a big fan of Georgia’s new defensive line recruit Zion Logue. I first saw Logue at the All-America Game combine in San Antonio in January, and he had no FBS offers at the time. But he is 6’5 and 270 pounds, and while he is raw and still growing into his body, he made enough plays and showed enough athleticism relative to his size to show me he can be a player. I also think Logue has the frame to grow into an interior player or perhaps an offensive tackle.
- Missouri running back commit Glover Cook, of Ocala (Fla.) is certainly one to watch. I know coaches at several national powers who have thought about offering Cook, and who still might do so come the fall if he has a big year. He has impressive balance and quickness.
- Perhaps Riley knew that the next day, Oklahoma would grab four-star cornerback Jaden Davis? Davis is small, but he makes a lot of plays.
- Oklahoma is now on the board on the Sunshine State Recruiting Scorecard — a little something I cooked up to show who is doing the best in my home state. Miami and FSU are crushing Florida right now.
- I wrote about how SEC QBs might really be the best this year. That hasn’t been the case very often.
