The Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Purdue Boilermakers in a 29-22 overtime thriller. The comeback win helps ease the sting of the injury to quarterback Braxton Miller.

Facing an eight-point deficit with 47 seconds left, Ohio State backup quarterback Kenny Guiton drove the Buckeyes 61 yards in 44 seconds, making the score 22-20 on a two-yard pass to Chris Fields. Guiton then found Jeff Heuerman for the two-point conversion to send the game to overtime.
As for Miller, he was held in check throughout the game before getting injured on a 37-yard rush late in the third quarter. He landed hard on his left shoulder and got carted to the locker room before being taken to a local hospital via ambulance.
Purdue jumped on Ohio State early, as quarterback Caleb TerBush connected with Akeem Shavers for an 83-yard score on the Boilermakers' first offensive play of the game. After a Buckeyes touchdown later in the first half, the Boilermakers responded with a 100-yard kickoff return that gave them a 13-7 lead that would be taken into the half.
Ohio State briefly took the lead in the third quarter on a two-yard touchdown run by Carlos Hyde, but Purdue answered right back on a 31-yard pass from TerBush to Gary Clark.
Purdue later added a safety and appeared to seal the game with an interception of Guiton with just over two minutes left. But blown coverages on the last drive doomed the Boilermakers. They fell to 3-4 overall and 0-3 in the Big Ten.
Box Score Hero: Hyde rushed for 91 yards on 19 carries and two scores, including the game-winner in overtime.
Rankings Ramifications: Ohio State is not eligible for the BCS rankings, but they were ranked No. 7 in the AP Poll heading into Saturday’s action. The Buckeyes may drop a few spots with this close win.
But Did They Cover?: Ohio State was favored by 18 points and did not come close to covering.
