Kansas vs. Oklahoma results: Sooners rout Jayhawks, 52-7

The Oklahoma Sooners handled their business, defeating the Kansas Jayhawks 52-7.

The No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners picked up their third win in Big 12 play, easily dispatching the Kansas Jayhawks, 52-7. The Sooners offense moved the ball at will, scoring seven touchdowns, including four in the second quarter alone. Landry Jones completed 20 of his 29 passes for 300 yards, and threw for three touchdowns. Kenny Stills led all Oklahoma receivers with six receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown.

Redshirt freshman Mike Cummings was ineffective in his first start for the Jayhawks, going 10-21 for 110 yards while throwing two interceptions. Running back James Sims proved to be the lone bright spot for the Kansas offense, collecting 153 total yards and a rushing touchdown.

Box Score Hero: Sooner quarterback Landry Jones, who threw efficiently for 300 yards. Jones went 20 for 29, tossing three touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Rankings Ramifications: Oklahoma was expected to blow out and Kansas and they did. The Sooners could rise one spot to No. 8 in the polls, with South Carolina falling to Florida.

But Did They Cover? The Sooners were 35½ point favorites, covering the spread by ten points.
