The Florida Gators took advantage of early turnovers by the South Carolina Gamecocks to cruise to a 44-11 victory.

The game would start off disastrously when Connor Shaw was stripped on the first play by Loucheiz Purifoy and picked up by Lerentee McCray at the South Carolina 2. That set up a quick Jeff Driskel to Jordan Reed strike to put Florida up 7-0.
After South Carolina cut the lead to 7-3 and was ready to get the football back, Trey Burton stripped and recovered an Ace Sanders fumble. Driskel would find Quinton Dunbar for a 13 yard touchdown to make it 14-3. The Gamecocks put themselves in a further hole when Damiere Byrd fumbled the subsequent kickoff return, Chris Johnson recovered, and Florida capitalized with their third gift-wrapped touchdown, as Driskel made his second touchdown connection with Reed.
South Carolina's Adam Yates would connect on a 51 yard field goal to make it 21-6 Florida at halftime, but the third quarter was all Gators. Omarius Hines would score on an eight yard scamper after receiving a lead block from his quarterback, and Driskel would throw his fourth touchdown pass to Frankie Hammond to put the Gators up 37-8 at the end of three periods.
