Boise has won six consecutive games after dropping its season opener against Michigan State, and has climbed to No. 18 in the Coaches Poll and No. 21 in the AP Poll. While the Broncos offense has not been as dominant as usual, Boise State's defense has kept opponents in check and presently ranks sixth nationally in points allowed. Quarterback Joe Southwick is averaging more than 211 passing yards per game and has thrown nine touchdowns so far this season.
Wyoming has limped to a 1-6 record in the first half of the season, and is winless in three conference games. Head coach Dave Christensen is suspended for this week’s game following a profanity-laced tirade addressed to Air Force coach Troy Calhoun after the Cowboys lost to the Falcons on Oct. 13. Quarterback Brett Smith has keyed the offense, but struggled in his last two starts.
