The calendar has turned to October and a number of highly anticipated conference games are on the schedule for the first Saturday of the month.
Georgia vs. South Carolina game time, TV schedule, spread and more
An early October matchup between Georgia and South Carolina could go a long way toward crowning an SEC East winner at the end of the season.

The SEC will have two games featuring four top 10 teams, with South Carolina and Georgia playing in primetime in Columbia. The Bulldogs and Gamecocks are ranked fifth and sixth, respectively, in the AP Poll. Florida, the third SEC East member in the top 10, will face a tough test against LSU in Gainesville. The winner coming out of Williams-Brice will be in prime position in the division early in the season.
The Bulldogs' rushing attack has pounded Vanderbilt and Tennessee the past two weeks, and Mark Richt will rely on Todd Gurley to move the ball on the ground in the hostile environment. Georgia has been on the losing end the past two seasons, but still clinched the East last year despite the early-season loss in Athens.
The Gamecocks will counter the Georgia rushing attack with one of the best defenses in the country, holding opponents to just 11.2 points per game (6th in FBS). It’s the start of a brutal three-week stretch for Steve Spurrier’s group, as they face Georgia and then travel to LSU and Florida in consecutive weeks this month. They will need to take care of business under the lights at home to maintain their hopes of a trip to Atlanta at the end of the season.
