Did Robert Woods fail a USC concussion test against Utah?

That’s the claim being made by at least one Utah reporter.

Update: The source of this development has now dialed his story back considerably.

When USC Trojans star receiver Robert Woods suffered a shot to the head during a special teams play last Thursday night against Utah, viewers were justifiably concerned. When Woods then stumbled and face planted and tried to run to the wrong sideline after finally getting up, we were sure he'd be out of the game for quite a while. But he ended up missing essentially no playing time, with ESPN's cameras showing USC trainers huddled around a laughing Woods right before he went back out. According to sideline reports, USC said Woods passed a suite of concussion tests before re-entering.

Now there’s one claim, being made by Utah Insider’s Brian Smith, that Woods didn’t actually pass all his concussion tests.

That's one assessment of the event, but it would not be out of line with the general perception of the game at all.

Woods finished the victory with 69 yards and a touchdown.
