Week 10 of the college football season kicks off Thursday night with an ACC Coastal matchup. Virginia Tech travels to Miami for a game between two fairly disappointing 4-4 teams. The Hokies were ranked among the top 15 teams in the country in the first month of the season, but after dropping four of their last six, Frank Beamer’s team is trying to become bowl eligible and redeem their year in the final month.

The ‘Canes enter the prime time spotlight on a three-game losing streak. Miami had its doors blown off by Kansas State but seemed to right the ship, reeling off thrilling comeback wins in the conference. But a winless October has the U languishing in mediocrity yet again. It’s unlikely that John Swofford, or ESPN, expected to broadcast a clash between two teams fighting to get over .500.
Both team's defenses have been underwhelming, so this could be a Thursday night shootout between Stephen Morris and Logan Thomas. While they may be 4-4 overall, because it's the ACC, both still have a shot to take the Coastal, where four teams are tied atop the standings with two losses.
