At 6-1 in SEC play, the Bulldogs are currently tied with Florida for the SEC East lead. Georgia holds the tiebreaker over the Gators thanks to a 17-9 win against Florida two weeks ago. If Georgia defeats Auburn on Saturday, the Bulldogs would clinch the East division and play in the SEC conference championship game on December 1.
Georgia is coming off a 37-10 win against Mississippi and will now go on the road for the final time this season. The Bulldogs have been strong on both sides of the ball this season, ranking 25th in the country in points allowed and 24th in points scored.
They will face a 2-7 Auburn team which is 0-6 in SEC play and has struggled to score points this season. The Tigers are averaging 19.2 points per game, good for 112th in the country. While it has struggled this season, Auburn still poses a threat to Georgia’s SEC East title hopes. The Tigers nearly upset then No. 2 LSU earlier in the season, losing 12-10.
The Bulldogs knocked off Auburn 45-7 last season and have won five of the last six contests.
