At 8-1 overall and 7-1 in the SEC, Florida has returned to national prominence this year via its defense, which is fourth nationally in scoring defense, fifth in total defense and first in pass-efficiency defense. Head coach Will Muschamp will hope to get through Saturday's game without incident, as the Gators are nursing a number of injuries. Florida could be missing as many as eight players because of injury Saturday, including kicker Caleb Sturgis and senior guard James Wilson.
Louisiana-Lafayette is 5-3 on the season, with a 63-24 loss to Oklahoma State in its only previous game against a BCS conference opponent. The Ragin' Cajuns rank in the top half of FBS programs in most offensive categories, including passing offense (264.5 ypg), rushing offense (171.0 ypg) and scoring offense (35.0 ppg). Quarterback Terrance Broadway has completed 64.6 percent of his pass attempts for 203 yards per game and 12 scores.
