Oklahoma State QB Clint Chelf will start vs. West Virginia, according to report

Oklahoma State junior quarterback Clint Chelf will start Saturday against the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Oklahoma State junior quarterback Clint Chelf will get the start Saturday against the West Virginia Mountaineers, according to a report from Joe Schad of ESPN.

Chelf played in relief of Wes Lunt last week against Kansas State after the freshman was knocked out of the game with a head injury. Chelf had a productive outing for the Cowboys, throwing for 233 yards, a touchdown and an interception in less than a half of play.

It was unknown whether Chelf or Lunt was going to start for the Cowboys after Lunt was cleared by doctors to participate in practice. But according to Schad, Chelf took a majority of first team reps with the offense this week.

Chelf will be the third starting quarterback for the Cowboys this year, joining Lunt and J.W. Walsh.

The Cowboys hope to receive some good news on Walsh as he could be cleared to play as early as next week after suffering a knee injury earlier in the year.
