Josh Williford injury: LSU RG likely out for season

LSU offensive lineman Josh Williford is likely done for the season due to lingering effects from his concussion suffered in early October.

It looks as though LSU won't get a boost to its offensive line with the return of right guard Josh Williford, as Randy Rosetta of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported, via Twitter, that Williford is likely done for the season due to a concussion suffered Oct. 6.

Rosetta reports that Williford is still dealing with lingering effects from the concussion, and says that a “couple” of sources confirm that Williford will be out for the remainder of the season.

It was originally thought that Williford might play against Alabama following a practice Oct. 31, but he regressed and signs of his concussion were still evident, and he did not suit up for that game on Nov. 3, which ended in a 21-17 loss for the Tigers.

Williford suffered the concussion in the second quarter against Florida Oct. 6.

Redshirt freshman Trai Turner has started and played well in Williford's absence.
