Boise State vs. Hawaii 2012 final score: Broncos get easy win over Warriors

Boise State was never threatened, as they easily handled an overmatched Hawaii team.

The Boise St. Broncos cruised to an easy victory over the Hawaii Warriors, 49-14, at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Broncos scored first and scored often, building a 35-7 halftime lead. Quarterback Joe Southwick did most of his damage in the first half and finished with 209 yards on 17-for-29 passing and three touchdowns, with all three coming in the first half. The Broncos rushed for 155 yards on the ground as a team, providing them with a balanced offensive attack.

But the story was the defense. The Broncos held the Warriors to 203 total yards and forced five turnovers, including a third quarter fumble forced by Jonathan Brown and recovered by Demarcus Lawrence, who returned it 25 yards for a touchdown.

With the win, the Broncos improved to 8-2 overall, 4-1 in the Mountain West Conference, and the Warriors fell to 1-8, 0-6 in conference.

Box Score Hero: Broncos wide receiver Aaron Burks finished with 107 yards on five receptions and a touchdown as part of a passing attack that finished with 256 yards receiving.

Rankings Ramifications: Depending on what happens above them, the 8-2 Broncos could find themselves back in the rankings next week.

But Did They Cover?: The Broncos came into the game as 29-point favorites and more than covered the spread.
