At 10-0 overall and 7-0 in Pac-12 play, the Ducks can clinch the Pac-12 North with a win against Stanford. In addition to a berth in the Pac-12 championship game, a win would also likely give Oregon a boost in the BCS rankings. Oregon is currently No. 2 in the BCS as they try to stay ahead of No. 3 Notre Dame.
The Cardinal are also in contention for the Pac-12 North title as Stanford can clinch the North with a win against Oregon and a win against UCLA in its final regular season game. The Cardinal are riding a four-game winning streak, including a 27-23 win against then-No. 11 Oregon State last week.
Saturday’s game will feature two of the best running backs in the Pac-12. Oregon’s Kenjon Barner is second in the conference with 1,360 rushing yards while Stanford’s Stepfan Taylor is fourth with 1,061 rushing yards. Barner leads the Pac-12 with 20 total touchdowns. Taylor is seventh with 11 touchdowns, one spot behind Oregon’s De’Anthony Thomas who’s scored 12 touchdowns this season.
Stanford leads the all-time series 44-30-1, but Oregon has dominated the matchup recently. Oregon has won nine of the last 10 games against Stanford, including the last two.
