Texas got by the Kansas Jayhawks on the road, 21-17, last Saturday after outscoring the Baylor Bears, 56-50, the week before. The Red Raiders were pounded on the road by the Kansas State Wildcats last Saturday, 55-24. Prior to that, Texas Tech had defeated West Virginia and TCU in consecutive weeks. With identical records of 6-2 overall and 3-2 in the Big 12, the winner of this contest will take drop the loser a rung lower in the conference standings.
With an average of 41.5 points per game this season, the Longhorns rank eighth in the nation in scoring. They are also, however, 100th in the country in points allowed, giving up 32.8 points per game. The Red Raiders have the country’s 12th-best offense in scoring, averaging 40.5 points per contest. Their passing attack is third in the nation, racking up 357.9 yards per game.

Point spread: According to OddsShark, the Red Raiders opened the week as 2½-point favorites but the line has spiked in Texas Tech’s favor since, as they’re now favored by 7½ points.
