The rivals have gone in opposite directions as of late as the Huskies have won four straight games while the Cougars are riding a nine-game losing streak. While both teams were thought to have prolific offenses heading into the season, they have struggled to score points. The Huskies are 92nd in the country, averaging 23.5 points per game while the Cougars are 111th at 19.5 points per game.
After battling injuries throughout his career, Jeff Tuel will start at quarterback in what could be his last game with the Cougars. While Tuel will play, senior linebacker Travis Long is a question mark for WSU. Long, who has started all 47 games in his Cougar career, suffered an apparent injury against Arizona State leaving his status in doubt.
The Huskies enter Friday’s Apple Cup with a three-game wining streak against the Cougars. Washington opened as 10-1/2-point favorite.
