Florida vs. Florida State score update: Gators making very convincing case

Florida has stormed Tallahassee, holding a 13-3 lead over Florida State at the break. That lead doesn’t look as big as it feels, though.

The Florida Gators entered Doak Campbell Stadium with perhaps the country's best resume, if by "resume" we mean "list of teams beaten" and nothing about how good they'ved looked in doing so. At halftime, the No. 10 Seminoles are down, 13-3, with three turnovers.

E.J. Manuel has been picked off twice and had only three completions until the final minute of the half, while Jeff Driskel and his bad wheel have 77 yards through the air and a nifty 31-yard run. On the ground, Mike Gillislee's knocked out 75 and a door-busting touchdown run, while FSU has ... well, I mean, FSU really hasn't done much of anything on offense.

FSU looked totally unprepared and overwhelmed for the first 29 minutes of the half before Manuel put together a lengthy drive to find the scoreboard. The good news for the Noles: they get ball first next.

A win here by Florida, especially if the current scoring trend holds, would raise the question of whether the Gators should leap Georgia in one or another standings. The BCS computers already heavily favor Florida, who’ve had a much tougher schedule, but the Dawgs won head-to-head earlier in the year.
