Oregon vs. Oregon State 2012 final score: Ducks dominate 2nd half, win 48-24

The Ducks blew out their in-state rivals on Saturday afternoon with a big second half.

The No. 5 Oregon Ducks pulled away in the second half to take down rival No. 15 Oregon State on Saturday, 48-24.

Oregon has kept hope alive for a trip to the Rose Bowl, and will host the Pac-12 championship game with a Stanford loss to UCLA. The win most likely sealed a BCS bowl trip of some sort for the Ducks.

The game was close for the first 35 minutes. Oregon State got a field goal to end the first half, then Storm Woods got his second rushing touchdown on the Beavers' initial possession of the second half to cut Oregon's lead to 20-17.

It was all the Ducks from there, as De'Anthony Thomas would rush for two touchdowns in less than two minutes. The first was a 5-yard score that capped a 13-play, 66-yard drive. The next came on a 29-yard scamper that followed an OSU fumbled kickoff return. Suddenly the score was 34-17 and the life was sucked out of Reser Stadium.

The Ducks played add-on from there, as they have done time and time again this season. Kenjon Barner would get his second rushing touchdown of the day following a Sean Mannion interception, and a 2-yard touchdown pass to B.J. Kelly left no doubt.

Box Score Hero: Thomas and Barner both had huge days for Oregon. Barner tallied 198 yards and two touchdowns, while Thomas logged 122 yards and three scores in the win.

Rankings Ramifications: The Beavers will likely drop a few spots after losing the the Ducks. Oregon will need some losses by top-ranked teams to move up.

But Did They Cover? The Ducks had little trouble covering, as they were favored by 11.
