Carmichael is a graduate of Boston College and has been coaching in the NFL since 2000. He first joined the Saints in 2006 as a quarterbacks coach before taking over the offensive coordinator duties in 2009. New Orleans’ offense has finished No. 1 in the NFL in four of six years under Carmichael’s watch.
Boston College is looking for a new coach after firing Frank Spaziani on Sunday. After a relatively strong start at Boston College, the Eagles went just 6-18 the past two years under Spaziani, including a woeful 2-10 this season. The team did not win a bowl game in Spaziani’s four seasons, losing in the Emerald Bowl in 2009 and the Fight Hunger Bowl in 2010.
