Terrell Williams arrest: John L. Smith ‘extremely upset’

Razorback senior linebacker suspended after being arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Arkansas Razorbacks senior linebacker Terrell Williams has been suspended indefinitely due to a weekend arrest on charges of driving while intoxicated. According to the police report, Williams was pulled over Sunday morning after his vehicle crossed the center line. Williams refused a blood-alcohol test and was "uncooperative" and "very argumentative" after failing a field-sobriety test and being transported to the Washington County Detention Center.

On Monday, Arkansas head coach John L. Smith addressed the situation and made it clear he was upset about it:

“I don’t even want to talk about that right now,” Smith said. “I don’t even want to talk to him right now. If you have that little compassion, respect, love for your teammates, it’s hard for me to show compassion, love for you, if that makes sense.

“So, right now, I don’t even want to talk to him, and we’ll decide. I can’t give you an answer. I’m just extremely upset with him.”

The arrest took place hours after Arkansas defeated Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 19-15, on Saturday. Williams made seven tackles in the victory. Williams has led Arkansas in tackles twice this season, including a 12-tackle performance in a 24-7 win over the Auburn Tigers on Oct. 6.

Williams was released on $910 bail and has a Dec. 14 court date.

On Saturday, Arkansas (4-5) visits No. 8 South Carolina Gamecocks in a SEC showdown (noon ET on CBS).
