Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian both have ties to USC, as Sarkisian worked as an offensive coordinator for the Trojans before moving to Washington. They’ve often been compared, and those comparisons have come to the forefront as many have questioned Kiffin’s abilities in what has become a three-loss season for USC.
Steve Sarkisian better than Lane Kiffin, says NFL exec
Lane Kiffin may have more wins in the last three seasons than Steve Sarkisian, but at least one important person thinks that Coach Sark is better at his job.

Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated talked to a number of opponents and NFL analysts, one of whom was an NFL executive who gave his opinion on the two coaches:
“I think at this stage [Washington coach] Steve Sarkisian is a better coach,” said an NFL personnel director. “When those two came out they were Golden Boy 1 and Golden Boy 2. I think Steve is the better coach.”
Sarkisian is 24-23 overall at UW and is looking to have his Huskies bowl eligible for the third straight season with a win over Utah on Saturday. Kiffin had national championship hopes prior to the year, but those were derailed in a loss to the Arizona Wildcats two weeks ago. He is 24-10 with USC while dealing with a bowl ban and scholarship restrictions.
The Trojans now have to fight for a spot in the Pac-12 championship game and a potential rematch with the Oregon Ducks.
