Texas vs. Kansas State game previews: TV schedule, odds and more

The Wildcats play for a Big 12 title Saturday night.

Jamie Squire

The No. 6 Kansas State Wildcats (10-1, 7-1) will be playing for an improbable Big 12 championship when they face the No. 18 Texas Longhorns (8-3, 5-3) in the regular season finale for both squads Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, with television coverage on ABC.

Kansas State, now two weeks removed from a loss to Baylor that cost the team a chance at the National Championship and quarterback Collin Klein his Heisman Trophy frontrunner status, will nevertheless play for its first Big 12 Championship and 11-win regular season since 2003. A win Saturday and an Oklahoma loss at TCU would give the Wildcats an outright title, though Kansas State holds the tiebreaker over Oklahoma should both teams win or lose. Quarterback Collin Klein has faded from Heisman consideration, but can cement his place at the ceremony with a strong performance.

Texas on the other hand, is suffering through yet another underachieving season. The Longhorns are coming to Manhattan off an upset 20-13 home loss to TCU on Thanksgiving. The Texas defense has come under particular scrutiny, ranking sixth in the conference and 65th overall in points allowed. However, the Texas offense has faltered in recent weeks, scoring just 13 against the Horned Frogs last week.

Game time, TV channel: 8 p.m. ET, ABC

Point spread: Kansas State is a 10.5-point favorite.
